House rules

Original NOS prohibited player-placed houses on Chaos and Order islands. Pre-placed houses could be sold there; an illegal house and its contents could be removed. Vendors also had to stay outside town rather than crowd the bank and public roads.

02

Deeded fixtures

The custom deed catalog covers a forge, anvil, bulletin board, player vendor, west and north archery buttes, spinning wheel, west and north training dummies, and west and north pickpocket dips. Most ordinary fixture deeds were priced at 5,000 gold in the original definitions.

Why services changed

The Nov. 1999 rules moved ordinary purchases toward vending machines and away from GM handouts. By the later 2000 rules, renaming, vendor sales, and GM decoration had changed again. Classic dates each policy instead of combining them into one imaginary timeless rulebook.
