Open-world fighting
Novus welcomed role-players and player killers from its first public rules. Roads, dungeons, remote towns, rare resources, and travel gates gave fights a reason to begin somewhere other than an arena.
- Six counts mark a murderer.
- Town guards answer qualifying crimes with lethal force.
- Legal PvP kills may be looted.
- Guard-kill exploits and bug-assisted attacks are prohibited.
Chaos and Order
Chaos access uses more than five kills; Order access uses fewer than five. The preserved Chaos Isle includes a bank, support stones, tavern, guild hall, houses, and internal lifts. Shield stations require Admirable fame and 10,000 gold in Classic.
The Duel Pits
Britain, Vesper, Buccaneer’s Den, and the Help Desk hub connect to the arena waiting area. The pits supplied ammunition, reagents, and provisions. Original GM rules allowed official duels and required agreement before looting.
