The Chronicle
Sources and recollection
What survived, what each source can prove, and how the Chronicle keeps fact, memory, and reconstruction separate.

Contemporary sources
The strongest records were created while the original shard was running: TUS scripts and world saves, configuration files, official news and rules, archived official pages, original forum captures, NOS Stratics, and participating community sites. A definition proves that code existed; a placed world object proves more than a definition alone.
Recollection
Probe and Kho’saf can explain intent and operation from firsthand experience. Former players can explain how a bridge fight, guild war, tournament, or town felt. Recollection is valuable, but it is labeled and not used to manufacture an exact price, date, script, or player count.
Four public labels
- Contemporary source — created during the period described.
- Corroborated recollection — later memory supported by another source.
- Community or founder recollection — useful firsthand memory presented as memory.
- Redux reconstruction note — a current decision made where the old record is incomplete or unsafe.
What is withheld
The private archive contains plaintext accounts, email addresses, IP addresses, private messages, moderation data, staff records, and executable material that cannot be published safely. The website receives reviewed facts and selected derivatives, never a raw archive path.
Corrections
A correction should name the page, statement, better source, and reason. The Chronicle records the change instead of silently replacing one confident story with another.
